Ten years ago, French neurologists discovered that when mathematicians solve complex problems, they activate the same neural networks that young children use when they think about math. This surprising result is part of a growing body of research that suggests that mathematics should be accessible to almost any brain. In this talk I will show how concepts that are normally thought to be beyond the reach of the average student can be made accessible and explain how teachers can use the science of learning to help every student develop their remarkable potential in math.
